WATCH: Passenger on Goa-bound IndiGo flight punches pilot announcing delay at Delhi airport

In a fit of rage, due to late takeoff of flight, a passenger onboard an IndiGo plane punched the aircraft’s pilot while the latter was making delay announcement. The video of the physical assault has now gone viral on social media.

In the viral video, a man in a yellow hoodie, identified as Sahil Kataria, is seen running from the last row of the aircraft towards the front side to hit the new pilot, who had replaced the previous crew due to Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms after delay of several hours.

Chalana hai chala, nai chalana mat chala, khol de [If you want to fly then fly otherwise open the door and let us go],” the passenger said after thrashing the captain.

One of the air hostesses is heard telling the passengers, “You cannot do this.”

The incident took place in Goa bound IndiGo flight from Delhi.

The passenger was made to de-board the flight and was picked up by security personnel at the airport. The Delhi Police is in process of legal formalities.

Several people took to social media demanding arrest of the man, with some saying he should be blacklisted.

“That’s insane,, People like this should be banned from flying or should be blacklisted.. Crew aren’t safe at all, imagine how dangerous such people could be on board or in cruise…,” wrote a user on X, reacting to the video.

“This person should be booked for assault as well as put on a No Fly List. While
@IndiGo6E is in the news for all the wrong reasons and must be taken to task for its shortcomings, but this is totally unacceptable passenger behaviour,” wrote another user.

“This is just terrible behaviour . He should be banned on all airlines,” wrote a user.

Due to bad weather and fog, IndiGo’s flight operations in Delhi and Kolkata have been impacted on Monday. The aviation company has asked fliers to check thei flight status before leaving for the airport.
