NDRF sends reinforcement to flood-battered Maharashtra; BMC sends two teams to Raigad, Kolhapur

As heavy rains lashed many parts of Maharashtra and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for five districts, two teams of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have left for Raigad and Kolhapur. Meanwhile, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed 8 more teams in Maharashtra in the flood-affected areas. Now a total of 34 teams have been deployed for rescue and relief work at various places. Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika, which is continuously providing various civic services to the citizens of the Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika area, is also working promptly outside its area in case of emergency.The two teams left for Raigad and Kolhapur on Saturday. "A team of Mumbai Municipal Corporation has been sent to Mahad in Raigad district to carry out relief work. Petrol and diesel prices unchanged for eighth day; here are fuel rates in your city today on 25 July 2021

Petrol prices remained unchanged in the country for the eighth day on Sunday while diesel rates also did not go up. In Delhi, petrol prices remained at Rs 101.84 a litre while the rate of diesel was at Rs 89.87. In Mumbai, petrol can be bought at Rs 107.83 per litre and diesel costs Rs 97.45 for one litre. One litre of petrol is priced at Rs 102.49 in Chennai and diesel costs Rs 94.39 per litre in the city. Petrol in Kolkata costs Rs 102.08 per litre and diesel is priced at Rs 93.02. While petrol can be bought at Rs 110.20 in Bhopal and diesel is priced at Rs 98.67 for one litre. Since 4 May, fuel prices have been on the rise in the country after the assembly elections in states and union territories including West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. A female constable died after being run over by a vehicle in Jehanabad while trying to quell a mob which in protest against a custodial death indulged in heavy stone-pelting and fired gunshots, leaving many police personnel injured. The busy Jehanabad-Arwal highway remained jammed for hours on account of the trouble that erupted in Parasbigha police station area of the district, said Sub Divisional Police Officer, Jehanabad, Ashok Kumar Pandey. There is a saying which rightly goes "Dogs are humans' best friend" and so does this story that proves it all. Among the many pet animals, dogs are said to be the most loyal companions of humans. To commemorate his deceased dog's fifth death anniversary, a man from Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district erected a bronze statue of it. The man identified as Sunkara Jnana Prakasa Rao believes that his dog was like a family member and the loss was significant, painful, and distressing. So, to keep his memory alive, the man erected a bronze statue of the canine to express his love on its death anniversary. The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has declared the results of Class 12 exams on Saturday, 24 July . The results were announced during a press conference by Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra. Indian weddings are always full of happiness, dance, humour, and a lot of drama. Recently, a dramatic incident took place during a wedding in Rampura village of Rajasthan's Ajmer when a horse (mare) ran off with the groom during baraat creating quite a disturbance in the marriage. This incident happened when the wedding procession was celebrating. Everything was going well until someone burst firecrackers close to the horse leaving it startled. The situation then got out of control as the horse ran off with the groom after hearing the sound of firecrackers. As seen in the video, the horse's owner can be seen running behind it to control the animal, however, his efforts went in vain. The revised syllabus for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations for the academic year 2021- 2022 has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). In continuation of its new assessment policy announced recently, the board has also issued its revised term-wise syllabus for Classes 9 to 12. The detailed information related to the revised syllabus for all the subjects has been released on the official website of CBSE -  cbseacademic.nic.in . As per the latest update, the complete syllabus has been reduced. From the total curriculum that is set, 50 percent would be completed in Term I and the remaining 50 percent will be done in Term II. Following which students would be required to appear for the Term End Examinations. In the new scheme, Term I will have multiple-choice questions (MCQ) while Term II will be subjective as well as MCQ-based. Scores have died in rain-related incidents, including multiple landslides, in Maharashtra over the last two days, while around 90,000 people under the Pune division had to be evacuated in past three days as heavy showers continued to wreak havoc in the state. However, confusion prevailed on the actual impact on life and property as contrasting figures of casualties surfaced. The Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office released a report on flood-related damages on Saturday, which put the toll at 76. However, state minister Balasaheb Thorat had told reporters a day ago that 136 people died due to incessant rainfall led to landslides. Meanwhile, a  PTI  tally combining incidents reported in the media so far and based on inputs from local officials put the number at 129. Children in India can start receiving coronavirus vaccine shots as early as September, All India Institue of Medical Sciences, New Delhi Director, Dr Randeep Guleria said on Saturday. Speaking to  NDTV,  Guleria said that there are a few vaccine candidates available that have been deemed safe for children. These include Pfizer, Bharat Biotech's Covaxin and Zydus Cadilla's ZyCoV-D shots. Which vaccine candidates are in pipeline for use in children? Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch on Friday recorded the statement of actress Shilpa Shetty in connection with her husband Raj Kundra's alleged business of pornographic films. Kundra was arrested on 19 July for allegedly financing pornographic films through apps and using the proceeds for betting. Sources have told CNN-News18 that the actress has pleaded not guilty, adding that she was not aware of the application hosting porn films.
