In a first, Narendra Modi changes time of Mann Ki Baat; due to Republic Day parade radio address to be telecast at 6 pm today

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 61st edition of his monthly radio programme ' Mann Ki Baat ', on Sunday at 6 pm. The first address of prime minister's monthly programme in 2020 will be done on the Republic Day, according to the official handle of ' Mann Ki Baat Updates '. This timing of the programme has been changed for today from its usual 11 am to avoid a clash with the Republic Day function in the morning. The programme will be broadcast on the entire network of All India Radio and Doordarshan and Narendra Modi App at 6 pm on 26 January. In his last address on 29 December, the Prime Minister had urged people to take up tasks to uplift the poor and had stressed the need for buying indigenous products to support the artisans. Uttar Pradesh Police arrests 10 anti-CAA protesters from Lucknow's Ghantaghar, registers FIR against 100 women

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday arrested 10 people including a woman from Ghantaghar in Lucknow, where an anti- Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) sit-in has been on since 17 January and booked 100 women, protesters, for allegedly violating prohibitory orders. A woman protestor claimed that police personnel suddenly arrived at the site and arrested volunteers. She alleged that the cops beat up senior citizens and hurled abuses at women. However, the police denied the allegations. "A case has been registered against 10 women and 100 unidentified women for violating Section 144 of CrPC, while protesting at Ghantaghar. Apart from this, eight persons have been arrested. They are Puja Shukla and seven male volunteers," Station House Officer of Thakurganj police station Pramod Mishra said. Ranchi : The Jharkhand Health Department has issued an advisory to all districts and health institutions in the state to stay alert and report any suspected case of Coronavirus. Getty Images The department has sent 'reporting formats' issued by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) to all the districts and health institutions to report any suspected case of Coronavirus, an official release said. The advisory also asked them to continuously monitor any suspected case of Coronavirus for 28 days, said an official release quoting Principal Secretary (Health) Nitin Madan Kulkarni. Kulkarni said that officials of all the districts and health institutions have been told about the advisory, standard operating procedures, and updates issued by the Union Health and Family Welfare department. Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday announced a change in nomenclature of police medal for gallantry and police medal for meritorious service, removing the word 'Sher-e-Kashmir', a reference to former chief minister and National Conference founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. "It is hereby ordered that the words 'Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry and Sher-i-Kashmir police medal for meritorious service' wherever appearing in the government order No.332(P) of 2001 dated 01.08.2001, as amended from time to time, shall henceforth be read as 'Jammu and Kashmir police medal for gallantry and Jammu and Kashmir police medal for meritorious service," Principal Secretary, home department, Shaleen Kabra said in an order.
