Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 81st episode of his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat' at 11 am on Sunday. The programme will be broadcast on All IndiaRadio and Doordarshan and also on AIR News and mobile app. It will also be streamed live on the YouTube channels of AIR, DD News, PMO, BJP, and information and broadcasting ministry. Barely four months after Yaas' wreaked havoc in Odisha, the coastal state is bracing for another cyclone, Gulab, which is likely to make landfall on Sunday evening between Gopalpur and Kalingapatanam in Andhra Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department said. The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified into cyclone 'Gulab' on Saturday and an 'orange' alert has been issued for north Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coasts, it said. West Bengal, however, heaved a sigh of relief for now, as the weatherman said the developing cyclonic storm is expected to reach the region by 29 September, by when it is expected to have weakened considerably. Petrol, diesel price today 26 September 2021: Diesel dearer, check rates in Delhi, Mumbai here

Petrol prices remained static but diesel prices rose on Sunday across the country. In Delhi, petrol costs Rs 101.19 a litre while the rate of diesel was Rs 89.07 per litre, a hike by 25 paise. In Mumbai, petrol can be bought at Rs 107.26 per litre and diesel costs Rs 96.68 for one litre, an increase by 27 paise. In Chennai, a litre of petrol is priced at Rs 98.96. On Sunday, the price of a litre of diesel was Rs 93.69 per litre, a rise of 23 paise. Petrol in Kolkata costs Rs 101.62 per litre while diesel costs Rs 92.17 a litre, which is expensive by 25 paise. While petrol can be bought at Rs 109.63 in Bhopal and diesel costs Rs 97.92 a litre, dearer by 27 paise. Petrol and diesel prices  are revised by the oil marketing companies including Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil and Hindustan Petroleum. The new prices are implemented at 6 am every day. States and cities have different fuel prices because of the value-added taxes, local and freight charges which vary depending on the place.

In a shocking incident, an elephant left devotees in a state of fear and panic after it got restless and agitated, following which it threw off a man who was sitting on top of it. Among the many states in the country, Kerala has a large number of wild elephants who are seen taking part in everyday prayer rituals in most of the temples. But this time, things did not go as planned during a recent evening ceremonial. According to Manorama News , this horrific incident took place on 24 September at Thiruvilwamala Vilwadrinatha Temple. The Haryana Civil Services preliminary examination 2021 results have been released by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). Candidates who appeared for the prelims can now check their scorecards by visiting the official website at  http://hpsc.gov.in/en-us/ . “The number of qualified candidates is twelve times the total number of vacancies. These candidates have qualified for the Main Written Examination of HCS (Ex.Br.) & other Allied Services Examination, subject to fulfillment of all eligibility conditions,” the commission said in the official notification . The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday upheld the Arms Act exemption granted to every person of Coorg by race , and Jumma tenure landholders in Coorg (Kodagu district). A division bench of acting Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum heard the matter which was first filed on 30 June by 41-year-old Captain Chethan YK (retired), also a resident of Kodagu, who sought to know why only one race was given this exemption. The judges in the case said: "The Kodava community which is a marshal community is enjoying the benefit of exemption since pre-independence and Jumma tenure holders are enjoying the exemption since pre-independence period.
