Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Sunday that the tracks destroyed during Saturday’s horrific Odisha train accident will be repaired as soon as possible and rail services in the affected sector will be restored by Wednesday. “The root cause of this accident has been identified. Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje said on Saturday that the Central government is doing its best to resolve the wrestler’s issue so they can end their more than a month-long protest. Addressing a press meeting in Udupi, she claimed that the protest is getting international support as it is against the central government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting to review the situation in relation to the Odisha train accident, according to government sources. More than 233 people have been killed and over 900 injured in the crash on Friday involving the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a goods train. Officials in Bhubaneswar said 200 ambulances, 50 buses and 45 mobile health units, besides 1,200 personnel, are working at the accident site. Odisha Triple Train Crash: According to state chief secretary Pradeep Jena, work is being done to cut the only remaining bogie that was badly damaged in the terrible train disaster in Balasore, Odisha. According to the Chief Secretary, there have been 238 fatalities so far, and at least 900 people have been hurt and are receiving medical attention. “So far around 900 passengers have been injured and are being treated in various hospitals in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Cuttack districts. The Law Commission of India has recommended the retention of the 153-year-old colonial law on sedition in India. Pakistani intruder shot dead by BSF in Jammu & Kashmir's Samba

A suspected Pakistani intruder was gunned down by troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district in the early hours of Thursday, officials said. The incident took place near the Mangu Chak border outpost (BoP) in the Samba sector around 2:50 am, they said. “In the early hours today, alert BSF troops noticed suspicious movement of a person, who crossed the IB from Pakistan’s side, in the Samba area,” a Border Security Force spokesperson said. He was challenged by the troops but the intruder kept advancing towards the border fencing. The troops opened fire, killing him, the spokesperson said. The BSF has launched a search operation along the IB in Samba sector as the intruder’s body is lying in the forward area. This is the second such incident along the India-Pakistan border in the Jammu division in two days.
