Jharkhand: Three killed, 24 injured as bus falls into river

A bus carrying passengers fell into a river in Jharkhand’s Giridih district on Saturday night, , killing at least three persons while 24 others were injured. Banna Gupta, Health and Disaster Management Minister said that district administration has started the rescue operation. Giridih Deputy Commissioner has been instructed to expedite the rescue operation, he said, adding that all necessary medical facilities will be provided. Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have revised prices for commercial LPG and made a significant reduction of Rs 99.75 for 19 KG commercial LPG gas cylinders. However, there will be no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders. Following the recent price revision, Delhi’s retail price of 19kg commercial LPG cylinder will be Rs 1,680 from Tuesday. However, rates of the domestic cooking gas will remain unchanged, as reported by the sources. Monthly revisions for both commercial and domestic LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders occur on the first day of each month, with the new rates becoming effective from August 1. Prices of domestic cooking gas were last revised on March 1 this year.In July, the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders were raised by Rs 7 each, but there was no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders. Three people, including two Home Guards, have been killed and at least 20 injured in clashes that erupted between the two communities during a procession taken out by the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Haryana’ Nuh on Monday. Police said the Home Guards were shot dead as a mob tried to stop the religious procession in Nuh’s Khedla Mod. According to an Indian Express report, as communal violence flared in the district, internet services were suspended, prohibitory orders were imposed, and the state Home Minister sought additional forces from the Centre, claiming that “3,000-4,000 people were being held hostage in a temple”. Engineer held for forging cheques, cheating bank of Rs 5.2 crore in Delhi

A 56-year-old civil engineer was arrested for allegedly forging cheques and cheating a public bank of Rs 5.20 crore, police said on Monday. An amount of Rs 1.52 crore was withdrawn in cash, while the remaining was diverted to different accounts of shell firms, they said. A complaint was received from a public bank at Sansad Marg in the national capital regarding the fraudulent withdrawal of money from the account of a private university. In August 2019, three cheques issued from the university were presented in the bank for clearance, a senior police officer said. Two cheques were presented for clearance through a bank and the same were cleared. An amount of Rs 5.20 crore was transferred to two different accounts, one in Vadodara, Gujarat and another in Betul, Madhya Pradesh. The third cheque was presented through a different bank, but the amount was stopped during the process, police said. NCLT issues notice to creditors, regulator over Go First ticket refunds

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Monday issued notices to the Committee of Creditors of crisis-ridden Go First and insolvency regulator IBBI over a plea to refund Rs 597.54 crore to around 15.5 lakh passengers who had booked tickets for travel on and after May 3. The resolution professional (RP) of Go First, which suspended operations on May 3, has approached the tribunal to seek permission for refunding money to passengers, some of whom booked flights till July 10. Senior advocate Ramji Srinivasan representing RP said that this has been done as per the business plan to revive the grounded airline.
