Encounter breaks out between security forces, militants in J&K's Kulgam

An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district late on Wednesday, police said.

“Encounter has started at Hadigam area of Kulgam district,” the Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X around 10.30 pm.

A joint team of police, CRPF and army launched a cordon and search operation in the surrounding village following the information regarding the presence of terrorists, a police officer said.

Thiruvananthapuram : Over 2,800 people are under observation in Kerala for the novel coronavirus infection and no new cases have been reported, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja said. India's three positive cases for the virus have been reported from Thrissur, Alappuzuha and Kasaragod districts. Home Minister Amit Shah has recovered, likely to be discharged in short time, says AIIMS

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was admitted to AIIMS-Delhi on 18 August for post-COVID care, has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time, hospital authorities said on Saturday. "Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, is admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi for post-COVID care. He has recovered and is likelyto be discharged in a short time," the AIIMS said in a statement. On 2 August, Shah, 55, had said on Twitter that he had tested positive for COVID-19. He had undergone treatment for the coronavirus infection at Medanta Hospital and was discharged after he tested negative for the disease.
