Necessary to win people's hearts before winning elections: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that BJP’s landslide victories in Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan assembly polls show that people resonate with ‘Modi’s guarantee,’ adding that elections cannot be won by making ‘false promises.’
Modi’s remarks came as he virtually addressed the beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. “Our government is not a ‘mai-baap’ government but a government that serves mothers-fathers. The manner in which a child serves his parents, in the same way, this Modi works to serve you,” he said.
He added that every poor, farmer and youth is a VIP for him. “The results show that people trust the guarantee of Modi. I am thankful to all who showed trust in my guarantee… Some political parties don’t understand that they can not get anything from false promises,” Modi said.

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes of the Government of India across the country covering all Gram Panchayats, Nagar Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies.
“But the question is that why the country does not trust those opposed to us. Some political parties do not understand that they would not be able to achieve anything by making false announcements. Elections are won by going among the people, not on social media,” the prime minister said.
“It is necessary to win people’s hearts before winning elections. It is not right to underestimate people’s wisdom. If some opposition parties had given primacy to serving people over their selfish political interests, then a big part of the population would not have lived in deprivation and hardships,” he added.
