PM Modi assures all help to Nepal after earthquake, says 'India stands in solidarity'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that he is “deeply saddened” by the loss of lives after a strong earthquake in Nepal. The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.4 and caused significant damage.
PM Modi said, “Deeply saddened by loss of lives and damage due to the earthquake in Nepal. India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and we wish the injured a quick recovery.”

Due to the earthquake, 128 people have died and at least 141 individuals have reportedly been injured.
The most affected areas were Jajarkot and West Rukum, with Jajarkot reporting 92 deaths, including the Deputy Mayor of Nalgad Municipality, Sarita Singh, according to ANI.
In Ramidanda of the Barekot Rural Municipality, 44 people died, and 70 others were injured.
The West Rukum district reported 36 deaths in Aathbiskot Municipality and eight in Sanibheri Rural Municipality. Many people were injured in these areas and were receiving medical treatment at various facilities.
Efforts were underway to evacuate those with serious injuries by air, while ambulances were deployed near the helipad at Nepalgunj Airport and military barracks.
Hospitals in the affected regions were designated as dedicated hospitals for providing medical care to the injured.
Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ expressed his sorrow over the human and material damage caused by the earthquake and mobilized three security agencies for immediate rescue and relief efforts.
The earthquake’s epicenter was in Nepal, and its tremors were also felt in several districts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
