Two LeT terrorists killed in encounter in J&K’s Shopian

Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said, adding, the search operations are on.

The killed terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq alias Abrar.

“Abrar was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit late Sanjay Sharma,” said ADGP Kashmir.

Taking to X earlier, Kashmir Zone Police said, “Encounter has started at Alshipora area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”

The encounter began after security forces launched an anti-militancy operation in the Alshipora area after receiving information about the presence of militants there.
