24-hour control room set up in MEA to monitor situation, provide assistance to Indians in Israel

The Ministry of External Affairs has set up a 24-hour Control Room to monitor the situation & provide information & assistance.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Palestine has issued emergency helpline numbers for its nationals in view of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas terrorists.

“In light of the prevailing security situation, Indian nationals in Palestine can directly contact the Representative Office of India to address any case of emergency or needed assistance on the 24-hour Emergency Helpline,” it said on X, formerly Twitter.

How many Indians are in Israel?

There are around 18,000 Indians in Israel who are primarily employed as caregivers by elderly Israelis, diamond traders, IT professionals and students.

Apart from this, there are approximately 85,000 Jews of Indian origin in Israel.
