G20 Summit 2023: PM Modi arrives at Bharat Mandapam to receive world leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi where the two-day G20 Leaders’ Summit will begin on Saturday.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and Nationa Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval at Bharat Mandapam.

Today is the first day of the two-day-long summit of the Group of 20 nations. Leaders from different parts of the world including US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and others arrived in the national capital yesterday.

The theme of this year’s G20 is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, meaning ‘the world is one family.’

The global summit will begin with the ‘One Earth’ session. Later in the day, the ‘One Family’ session will commence. The first session will begin at 10:30 am.

The G20 member countries represent around 85 per cent of the global GDP, over 75 per cent of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.

The grouping comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US and the European Union (EU).
