50 children hospitalised after consuming mid-day meal in Bihar's Sitamarhi

As many as 50 school children were hospitalised after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting allegedly after consuming mid-day meal at a primary school in Dumra block of Bihar’s Sitamarhi district on Tuesday.

According to officials, the children were referred to Sadar Hospital where they are said to be stable.

A doctor at Sadar Hospital said that children complained that a chameleon was found in the mid-day meal which was consumed by them.

“They have complained that a chameleon was found in the mid-day meal. They had consumed the same food. All the children here are stable and symptom-free. We have kept them under observation. Everything is normal now. Their parents are with them. There is nothing to worry about,” said Dr Sudha Jha.
