Gujarat NMMS 2020: Result for Class 8 declared; visit sebexam.org to check score

The State Examination Board, Government of Gujarat has declared the Class 8 result for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination 2020. Students who had appeared for the test can check and download their scorecards by visiting the official website http://sebexam.org. The examination was conducted on 14 March.

Candidates can follow these simple steps to check the results:

  1.       Visit http://sebexam.org/
  2.       On the homepage, check the ‘Notice Board’ and click on the notification for NMMS result
  3.       The results (in PDF format) will be displayed on the screen. Check name and roll number
  4.       If you want to take a printout, click on the ‘Click here’ button given with the result link
  5.       Select the NMMS option, enter confirmation number and Date of Birth
  6.       Click on ‘Submit’ and print a copy

Along with the merit list, the board has also shared some key statistical information related to the scholarship exam. As per the State Education Board, a total of 1,41,103 candidates had applied for the exam. Out of these, 1,33,308 appeared for the exam. Only 77,368 candidates managed to qualify and out of these 5,090 candidates have been selected for the merit list.

The NMMS is a Government of India-sponsored scheme and is conducted by the Education Ministry. Only those students are eligible for the scholarship, whose total household income does not exceed Rs 1.5 lakh per annum.

After genome sequencing of over 10,000 COVID-19 cases in India, researchers have discovered a new variant with two new mutations which may be better at evading the immune system. In 15-20 percent of samples from the Indian state of Maharashtra (the state accounting for 62 percent of cases in the country) a new, double mutation in key areas of the virus has been detected. These are now known as the E484Q and L452R mutations. What makes the variant different? Aditya L1 Mission: Spacecraft is nearing its final phase, says ISRO chief

Aditya L1 spacecraft is nearing its final phase, and manoeuvres to enter the L1 point are expected to be completed by January 7, 2024, according to ISRO Chairman S Somanath. “Aditya is on the way. I think it has reached almost its final phase,” the ISRO chief told PTI on the sidelines of an event organised at VSSC to commemorate the 60th year of the First Sounding Rocket Launch. Aditya L1, India’s first space-based mission to study the Sun, was successfully launched on September 2 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota. The spacecraft, after travelling about 1.5 million km from Earth over 125 days, is expected to be placed in a Halo orbit around the Lagrangian point L1, considered closest to the Sun.
