Tamil Nadu polls: 12 BJP, two AIADMK workers arrested for distributing cash to voters in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A total of 14 workers of two political parties were arrested for allegedly distributing cash to voters in two areas in Coimbatore on Saturday, police said.

Based on the information, the police went to an area in Coimbatore south constituency where they caught 12 BJP workers distributing the money to residents.

A sum of Rs 46,000 was seized from them and six two-wheelers were impounded, the police said.

In another incident, two AIADMK workers were held for distributing money in an area coming under Coimbatore North constituency, they said.

A total of Rs 24,500 in cash was seized from their possession, they added.

No reels, avoid being part of political campaigns: Delhi Police issues new social media guidelines for officers

The commissioner of Delhi Police has issued social media guidelines for police personnel asking them to “maintain the dignity of the uniform.” As per the guidelines, police officers in the national capital will be refrained from shooting reels or videos using their mobiles and they must practice extreme caution handling confidential information related to any pending trial or suspect or arrested person and ensure there are no leaks. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora published the guidelines on Friday. The policemen should not post any statements, photos or videos related to departmental training, activities or duties on social media without written permission and also refrain from posting comments that can be derogatory towards victims, suspects or any group, it said.
