ICSI CSEET to be conducted on 8 May; check details at icsi.edu

The Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) 2021 conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) will be held on 8 May.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, ICSI has decided not to conduct this exam in offline mode. Instead, it will be held through remote proctored mode. Candidates can undertake the test in their homes.

The exam cannot be taken through a smartphone or a tablet.

The institute has also cancelled the viva for CSEET this year. The admit cards will be released 10 days prior to the exam.

Examination:

There will be 200 marks for 2 hours examination. It will have 140 objective type multiple choice answer questions. The syllabus includes:

1. Business Communication
2. Economic and Business Environment
3. Current Affairs
4. Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning
5. Presentation & Communication Skills

It is mandatory to pass the CSEET to take admission in the Executive Programme of Company Secretary course.

Each candidate is required to score a minimum of 40 percent in Paper 1 and Paper 2, respectively. There is no negative marking for the wrong answers. A candidate cannot leave the test till its submission and no breaks are allowed in between.

Eligibility for Company Secretary Course:

1) A candidate must have passed the CSEET. The result should not be older than one year
2) H/She should have passed the 10+2 exam from a recognised education board

After genome sequencing of over 10,000 COVID-19 cases in India, researchers have discovered a new variant with two new mutations which may be better at evading the immune system. In 15-20 percent of samples from the Indian state of Maharashtra (the state accounting for 62 percent of cases in the country) a new, double mutation in key areas of the virus has been detected. These are now known as the E484Q and L452R mutations. What makes the variant different? Both these mutations are concerning because they are located in a key portion of the virus – the spike protein – that it uses to penetrate human cells. Spike proteins attach via a “receptor binding domain”, meaning the virus can attach to receptors in our cells. Aditya L1 Mission: Spacecraft is nearing its final phase, says ISRO chief

Aditya L1 spacecraft is nearing its final phase, and manoeuvres to enter the L1 point are expected to be completed by January 7, 2024, according to ISRO Chairman S Somanath. “Aditya is on the way. I think it has reached almost its final phase,” the ISRO chief told PTI on the sidelines of an event organised at VSSC to commemorate the 60th year of the First Sounding Rocket Launch. Aditya L1, India’s first space-based mission to study the Sun, was successfully launched on September 2 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota. The spacecraft, after travelling about 1.5 million km from Earth over 125 days, is expected to be placed in a Halo orbit around the Lagrangian point L1, considered closest to the Sun.
