OPENMAT, OPENNET, B.Ed entrance exam: Registration for these IGNOU exams closes today

The registration for OPENMAT, OPENNET and B.Ed entrance exam will conclude on Saturday, 20 March. Conducted by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the OPENMAT 2021 exam will be for admission in management programme while OPENNET 2021 is for nursing programmes. Admission to the B.Ed programme of IGNOU will be based on the entrance exam.

Steps:

Step 1: Visit the website http://ignou.ac.in/

Step 2: On the homepage, you will find the option ‘Online Registration for BED, OPENMAT, Post Basic (Nursing Program) Entrance Test for January 2021 session.’ Click on this

Step 3: A new page will open. Click on the option to register

Step 4: Enter your details in the application form and submit any documents, if required. Pay the application fee to complete the registration process

Step 5: Download the application form

Step 6: Take a print out of the application form and keep it safely for future reference

OPENMAT for admission to MBA programmes will be held on 11 April, according to a report in NDTV. In a statement, IGNOU said that those aspirants who qualify the OPENMAT 2021 will get admission to the MBA programme in the January 2021 admission cycle.

B.Ed entrance exam will also be held on Sunday, 11 April while the date for OPENNET 2021 is yet to be announced, reported Scroll.

After genome sequencing of over 10,000 COVID-19 cases in India, researchers have discovered a new variant with two new mutations which may be better at evading the immune system. In 15-20 percent of samples from the Indian state of Maharashtra (the state accounting for 62 percent of cases in the country) a new, double mutation in key areas of the virus has been detected. These are now known as the E484Q and L452R mutations. What makes the variant different? Both these mutations are concerning because they are located in a key portion of the virus – the spike protein – that it uses to penetrate human cells. Aditya L1 Mission: Spacecraft is nearing its final phase, says ISRO chief

Aditya L1 spacecraft is nearing its final phase, and manoeuvres to enter the L1 point are expected to be completed by January 7, 2024, according to ISRO Chairman S Somanath. “Aditya is on the way. I think it has reached almost its final phase,” the ISRO chief told PTI on the sidelines of an event organised at VSSC to commemorate the 60th year of the First Sounding Rocket Launch. Aditya L1, India’s first space-based mission to study the Sun, was successfully launched on September 2 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota. The spacecraft, after travelling about 1.5 million km from Earth over 125 days, is expected to be placed in a Halo orbit around the Lagrangian point L1, considered closest to the Sun.
