Over 200 women gather near Delhi's Jaffrabad metro station to protest against CAA and NRC, raise slogans of 'aazadi'

New Delhi: Over 200 women gathered near the Jaffrabad metro station in Delhi on Saturday night in protest against the new citizenship law and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

The women, raising slogans of 'aazadi', said they would not move from the site till the Centre revoke Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

There is a protest already going on near the main Seelampur road against the amended Citizenship Act.

Thiruvananthapuram : Over 2,800 people are under observation in Kerala for the novel coronavirus infection and no new cases have been reported, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja said. India's three positive cases for the virus have been reported from Thrissur, Alappuzuha and Kasaragod districts. At least 2,826 people are under surveillance in the state as of Thursday, a press release quoting the minister said. Home Minister Amit Shah has recovered, likely to be discharged in short time, says AIIMS

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was admitted to AIIMS-Delhi on 18 August for post-COVID care, has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time, hospital authorities said on Saturday. "Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, is admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi for post-COVID care. He has recovered and is likelyto be discharged in a short time," the AIIMS said in a statement. On 2 August, Shah, 55, had said on Twitter that he had tested positive for COVID-19. He had undergone treatment for the coronavirus infection at Medanta Hospital and was discharged after he tested negative for the disease.
