CAT 2019 results announced: 10 candidates score 100%; download score cards from iimcat.ac.in

CAT 2019 results | The results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) were announced on Saturday.

Ten candidates — all men from technology and engineering background —have scored a perfect 100 percentile in the CAT, officials told PTI. 

The CAT conducted in 2019 saw the highest number of test takers in the past 10 years, they added.

The score cards can be downloaded from the official website iimcat.ac.in.

Here are the steps to download the score card:

Step 1: Go to the official website iimcat.ac.in

Step 2: Click on Login button below Download CAT 2019 Score Card

Step 3: Log in with user name and password

Step 4: Download and save score card for future reference

The IIM had conducted the computer-based CAT in two sessions on 24 November, 2019. The answer key was released on 29 November.

The CAT is a pre-requisite for admission to various postgraduate and fellow programmes of IIMs. CAT 2019 scores are allowed to be used by listed non-IIM member institutions as well.

New coronavirus variant emerge in India: How should our COVID response change?

After genome sequencing of over 10,000 COVID-19 cases in India, researchers have discovered a new variant with two new mutations which may be better at evading the immune system. In 15-20 percent of samples from the Indian state of Maharashtra (the state accounting for 62 percent of cases in the country) a new, double mutation in key areas of the virus has been detected. These are now known as the E484Q and L452R mutations. What makes the variant different? Both these mutations are concerning because they are located in a key portion of the virus – the spike protein – that it uses to penetrate human cells. Spike proteins attach via a “receptor binding domain”, meaning the virus can attach to receptors in our cells. These new mutations include changes to the spike protein that make it a “better fit” for human cells. This means the virus can gain entry more easily and multiply faster. 120 flights delayed, 30 trains running late; Delhi fog & cold wave continue to give shiver to travellers

Arrival and departure of 120 flights, both domestic and international, to Delhi airport were affected due to dense fog and cold wave conditions on Wednesday, according to Delhi Airport FIDS (Flight Information Display System).
