Hindi Diwas 2019: Narendra Modi stresses on 'simplicity' of national language; Amit Shah bats for Hindi as India's identity

Hindi Diwas 2019: On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, as the nation unites to celebrate its distinct identity, reactions have started pouring in from across all political circles to observe the day, 14 September, that crowns Hindi as one of the official languages of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the nation on the occasion of Hindi Diwas and stressed on the "simplicity, spontaneity and decency" of the national language that offers meaning to expression.

Urging everyone to try their best in promoting the national language, the BJP tweeted from its Rajasthan handle and said that Hindi is the "boon of our consciousness". Claiming that Hindi holds the ability to "tie the country to the door of unity", Home Minsiter Amit Shah asked the citizens to increase the use of the language in their everyday life to realise the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal extended his greetings and urged everyone to be proud of their mother tongue.

Asserting than Hindi is not just a language, but an integral part of our culture, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said it was important for citizens to incorporate the language in our daily practices thereby, contributing to increasing its pride.

The Congress also took to Twitter to extend greetings on the historic day when Hindi was given the status of official language under constitutional provisions.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also offered his greetings to everyone.

Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP National General Secretary, said that "Developing one's own language is the key to every development."

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said:

After Independence, the Constituent Assembly took the decision in 1949 to adopt Hindi as the official language of India. Thereafter, the Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha on 1953 requested to observe 14 September as Hindi Day every year and broadcast the language in every region.

After genome sequencing of over 10,000 COVID-19 cases in India, researchers have discovered a new variant with two new mutations which may be better at evading the immune system. In 15-20 percent of samples from the Indian state of Maharashtra (the state accounting for 62 percent of cases in the country) a new, double mutation in key areas of the virus has been detected. These are now known as the E484Q and L452R mutations. What makes the variant different? Both these mutations are concerning because they are located in a key portion of the virus – the spike protein – that it uses to penetrate human cells. Aditya L1 Mission: Spacecraft is nearing its final phase, says ISRO chief

Aditya L1 spacecraft is nearing its final phase, and manoeuvres to enter the L1 point are expected to be completed by January 7, 2024, according to ISRO Chairman S Somanath. “Aditya is on the way. I think it has reached almost its final phase,” the ISRO chief told PTI on the sidelines of an event organised at VSSC to commemorate the 60th year of the First Sounding Rocket Launch. Aditya L1, India’s first space-based mission to study the Sun, was successfully launched on September 2 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota. The spacecraft, after travelling about 1.5 million km from Earth over 125 days, is expected to be placed in a Halo orbit around the Lagrangian point L1, considered closest to the Sun.
