Salman Rushdie, an international British-Indian novelist also took to the microblogging site to express his views on Kashmir. He said that there 'isn't much to celebrate on 15 August' owing to the atrocities happening in the state.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
