July ends with above normal rainfall bringing overall monsoon deficiency in India down to -9%; IMD predicts heavy rains in next two weeks

July recorded 298.3 millimetres of rainfall as against the normal precipitation of 285.3 millimetres, Mritunjay Mohapatra, the IMD director-general said.
