Amid heavy downpour causing water logging at various places in the financial capital and surrounding metropolitan area, the state government has declared 2 July as a public holiday.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
