Jharkhand mob lynching: Tabrez Ansari's family condemns media for 'false reports' claiming his father was also beaten to death

The family members of Tabrez Ansari who was allegedly lynched by a mob earlier this month, claimed that the reports of his father Maskoor Alam's death 15-years-ago due to mob lynching are false. They said that Tabrez's father was murdered over a dispute with friends. Tabrez Ansari was attacked by a mob in Kharsawan district of Jharkhand on the suspicion of theft on 18 June and succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital on 22 June.

A special song on millets featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially been nominated for this year’s coveted music award Grammy under the best global music performance category. The song called ‘Abundance of Millets’ is sung by Mumbai-based singer Falguni Shah, popularly known by her stage name Falu, and her husband Gaurav Shah. It highlights the health benefits of millet. The song features PM Modi’s speech on the benefits of millet. The year 2023 has been designated as the “International Year of Millets” after a proposal for it was brought forward by India and endorsed by the members of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) governing bodies as well as the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.
