Catching a glimpse of the famed, elusive snow leopard while trekking the rugged and remote mountains of Ladakh may be a dream come true for wildlife seekers. However, these predators have had a bad rap among local villagers, many of whom often regarded them as pests, because of their tendency to prey on livestock - sometimes killing many in a single incident. As a result, some local livestock herders resorted to retaliatory killings of these cats.

However, much before its formal induction, the indigenous LCH has already proved its mettle in combat. Over two years ago, the LCH had given the mighty People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China a taste of its capabilities in battle. According to the Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) – the developers of the LCH – the indigenous helicopter had landed at one of the most treacherous helipads in Ladakh at the height of the military face off in Ladakh and had successfully demonstrated its quick deployment prowess to forward locations in extreme temperatures. No reels, avoid being part of political campaigns: Delhi Police issues new social media guidelines for officers

The commissioner of Delhi Police has issued social media guidelines for police personnel asking them to “maintain the dignity of the uniform.” As per the guidelines, police officers in the national capital will be refrained from shooting reels or videos using their mobiles and they must practice extreme caution handling confidential information related to any pending trial or suspect or arrested person and ensure there are no leaks. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora published the guidelines on Friday. The policemen should not post any statements, photos or videos related to departmental training, activities or duties on social media without written permission and also refrain from posting comments that can be derogatory towards victims, suspects or any group, it said. The guidelines, which were issued in Hindi, also stated that disclosure of the identity of a juvenile or a complainant of sexual assault through social media is illegal.
