Supreme Court's verdict on Section 377: LGBTQ community members, activists celebrate landmark judgment

The Supreme Court on Thursday passed a verdict on Section 377 of the IPC, and said consensual sex between homosexual adults is not a criminal offence. However, unnatural sex with animals remains criminalised.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
