One pilot dead after two IAF Surya Kiran jets crash mid air during rehearsal for Aero India show; one civilian injured

A day before the much-awaited Aero India 2019 is set to begin in Bengaluru, two Indian Air Force (IAF) Surya Kiran jets crashed mid air on Tuesday during a practice run for the air show. Both pilots ejected safely, and no casualties have been reported.

Song on millets featuring PM Modi gets Grammy nomination

A special song on millets featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially been nominated for this year’s coveted music award Grammy under the best global music performance category. The song called ‘Abundance of Millets’ is sung by Mumbai-based singer Falguni Shah, popularly known by her stage name Falu, and her husband Gaurav Shah. It highlights the health benefits of millet. The song features PM Modi’s speech on the benefits of millet. The year 2023 has been designated as the “International Year of Millets” after a proposal for it was brought forward by India and endorsed by the members of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) governing bodies as well as the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.
