Indian Railways demands Rs 16.43 crore from Lok Sabha for operating canteens in Parliament; amount claimed as 'establishment cost'

Northern Railway has demanded Rs 16.43 crore from the Lok Sabha secretariat for running four canteens in Parliament - where food prices are significantly low - during 2017-18, an RTI query has revealed. This amount was claimed as "subsidy claim and establishment cost".

Song on millets featuring PM Modi gets Grammy nomination

A special song on millets featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially been nominated for this year’s coveted music award Grammy under the best global music performance category. The song called ‘Abundance of Millets’ is sung by Mumbai-based singer Falguni Shah, popularly known by her stage name Falu, and her husband Gaurav Shah. It highlights the health benefits of millet. The song features PM Modi’s speech on the benefits of millet. The year 2023 has been designated as the “International Year of Millets” after a proposal for it was brought forward by India and endorsed by the members of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) governing bodies as well as the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.
