Vice Admiral SN Ghormade, who was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1 January, 1984, assumed charge as Chief of Staff of the Eastern Naval Command, on Thursday.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
