Animal cruelty not inherent part of Indian culture; hundreds of local deities proof of survival in harmony

Till a few decades ago, inspite of the culture of animal sacrifice and ritual hunts by tribals, it was, by and large, a peaceful country where people lived in harmony with animals and respected their lives.
