Protests against citizenship bill continue unabated in Assam; agitations held in Guwahati, Tinsukia, Tezpur

Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill showed no sign of waning in Assam on Saturday as agitators staged semi-clad protests in Tezpur, organised citizen's meeting in Guwahati and women held a rally in Tinsukia.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
