There was no tsunami alert issued as sea levels around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands showed no major rise, said INCOIS (Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services) director SPS Shenoi.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
