Tamil Nadu woman given HIV-infected blood was dissuaded by Sivakasi officials from filing FIR: 'They should've given me poison instead'

Preliminary inquiries revealed that donor is a 21-year-old from Sivakasi who donated blood on 30 Nov. According to a relative of the donor, they had no knowledge of his HIV status at that time and he had come along with a female relative who needed a blood transfusion.

A special song on millets featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially been nominated for this year’s coveted music award Grammy under the best global music performance category. The song called ‘Abundance of Millets’ is sung by Mumbai-based singer Falguni Shah, popularly known by her stage name Falu, and her husband Gaurav Shah. It highlights the health benefits of millet. The song features PM Modi’s speech on the benefits of millet. The year 2023 has been designated as the “International Year of Millets” after a proposal for it was brought forward by India and endorsed by the members of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) governing bodies as well as the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.
