MP Assembly election: On poll result day, women of Bundelkhand refrained from joining crowds outside counting centres
On 11 December, the country's eyes were on Madhya Pradesh as 51 polling centres crunched the numbers of votes cast in the state assembly elections. Incumbent party BJP and the Congress were in a head-to-head battle until the last minute; the seat-count in favour of each party see-sawing wildly throughout the day. Outside the vote counting centres, it was a nail-biting and hair-raising atmosphere - kind of a roller-coaster - that many locals experienced, until the final victory lap was firmly placed with the Congress.
