19-year-old man from Tamil Nadu, who unknowingly donated HIV-positive blood to pregnant woman in Sattur, commits suicide

The 19-year-old recently found out that he was HIV positive during a routine medical examination part of a visa application process. He immediately informed authorities about recently having donated blood, which was then traced to the Sattur hospital where a 24-year-old pregnant woman from Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district was transfused the blood.

Song on millets featuring PM Modi gets Grammy nomination

A special song on millets featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially been nominated for this year’s coveted music award Grammy under the best global music performance category. The song called ‘Abundance of Millets’ is sung by Mumbai-based singer Falguni Shah, popularly known by her stage name Falu, and her husband Gaurav Shah. It highlights the health benefits of millet. The song features PM Modi’s speech on the benefits of millet. The year 2023 has been designated as the “International Year of Millets” after a proposal for it was brought forward by India and endorsed by the members of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) governing bodies as well as the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.
