WHO World Malaria Report 2018: India leads world in reducing disease burden; registered a 24% decrease in cases in 2017

India and 10 other countries in sub-Saharan Africa accounted for around 70 percent of estimated malaria cases (151 million) and deaths (274,000) globally in 2017, with only India reporting progress in reducing its malaria cases when compared to 2016, a report said Monday.
