Pune court discharges 185 farmers in 2011 Maval firing case, allows state govt's application to withdraw case against cultivators

Three farmers, including a woman, were killed in the police firing and 16 farmers had received injuries during the agitation on 9 August 2011 in Maval tehsil of the district.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
