The draft NRC in Assam was published on 30 July which included the names of 2.9 crore people out of the total applications of 3.29 crore.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
