Introduced in the US House of Representatives by Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney from New York, the resolution to award Mahatma Gandhi with the US Congressional Gold Medal is co-sponsored by four Indian American lawmakers in the House.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
