Twenty-three districts in Karnataka declared 'drought-hit' due to deficit rainfall over the course of this monsoon

According to the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) data, the cumulative seasonal rainfall across the southern state was minus 2 percent from 1 June to 12 September, with coastal areas recording 3 percent above normal, and south interior region 7 percent above normal, while north interior area posted 26 percent deficit.
