Monsoon rains is considered normal in the range of 96-104 percent of the Long Period Average (LPA). The 90-96 percent of the LPA range is considered "below normal".

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
