Kochi airport which had been shut since more than two weeks due to incessant rains and flooding, re-opened on Wednesday. Indigo flight from Ahmedabad was the first flight to land since its closure.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
