Exclusion from NRC will not mean automatic removal from voter list, says Chief Election Commissioner

Chief Election Commissioner O P Rawat said that this NRC is only a draft. All these 40 lakh individuals will be informed why their names were not included.

There was action and drama in Jharkhand on Wednesday night. Hemant Soren, the state’s chief minister, resigned from his post, and was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
