UP police detained a man who allegedly threaten to kill Prime Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath calling the UP-112 helpline. Deoria Kotwali SHO DK Mishra confirmed that the call was made late Sunday night to the UP-112 helpline number by a man who introduced himself as Arun Kumar, a resident of Bhujauli Colony of the city. Later, the police officials traced the location of the mobile to Devrad village of Harpur Budhat in Gorakhpur district, where the accused Sanjay Kumar was apprehended Monday morning, the SHO said. After further investigating the matter, police came to know that the 45-year old man was drunk when he made the call. The seventh suspect in the June 2022 West Bengal case involving the discovery of a sizable stash of explosives, Nonels (non-electric detonators), and electric detonators was taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday. Six suspects were previously detained for their alleged involvement in the case. Based on information provided by three previously detained suspects, Rintu Sk, Merajuddin Ali Khan alias Meraj Khan alias Meraz Khan, and Mir Md Nuruzzaman alias Romeo alias Mir alias Jamai alias Prince, Manoj Ghosh, a native of the Birbhum district of West Bengal, was apprehended in Bahadurpur. Meraj and Prince were charged in the case by the NIA on June 28 of this year. A flood warning has been issued by the Delhi government on Sunday as Haryana released more than one lakh cusecs of water into the Yamuna river from the Hathnikund barrage. The irrigation and flood control department said this was the first warning, with 1,05,453 cusecs of water discharged at 4 pm. Normally, the flow rate at the barrage is 352 cusecs, but heavy rainfall in the catchment areas increases the discharge. The water from the barrage takes around two to three days to reach Delhi. The concerned authorities have been instructed to stay vigilant and take necessary action to prevent the vulnerable areas. Teams have been deployed to raise awareness among the people living near the river embankments. The Delhi government has set up 16 control rooms, including a central control room, to monitor the flood-prone areas and the water level of the Yamuna.
