CBSE Term 2 Examination 2022: Important things to know about Class 10 English paper today

On the second day of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) term 2 board exams today, 27 April, Class 10 students are taking their English Language and Literature paper. The exam will start at 10:30 am. However, no examination is scheduled for Class 12 today. Students will be required to take a printed copy of their admit cards to the examination centre. This is mandatory to get entry inside the exam hall. The examination will be held for a duration of 1 hour from 10:30 am to 11:30 and the paper will consist of both subjective and objective type questions. It is to be noted that a notice has been issued by the Board regarding the filling of centre codes in the Class 10 answer book for term 2 examinations. It has issued 6 digit centre codes instead of 5 digits. Tamil Nadu: 11, including children, electrocuted during temple chariot procession; PM announces ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh

At least 11 people, including children, died after they were electrocuted during Appar temple chariot procession in Kalimedu of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. Fifteen others have been seriously injured in the incident. The incident took place when the temple car was negotiating a turn and faced some obstacle before being reversed when it came into contact with an overhead high tension transmission line, news agency PTI reported police and eyewitnesses as saying. The people who were standing on the chariot were thrown in the impact. Visuals show that the chariot got completely damaged in the impact. India reports 17.88% surge in new COVID-19 cases, 2,927 test positive in 24 hours

India has reported a rise of 17.88 per cent in new COVID-19 cases in a single day. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Wednesday morning informed that the country logged 2,927 fresh infections of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, India reported 2,483 new cases of COVID-19. The daily COVID-19 positivity rate has now risen to 0.58 per cent, up from 0.55 per cent reported on Tuesday. The weekly positivity rate is at 0.59 per cent. The fresh COVID-19 infections reported on Wednesday have pushed the case tally to 4,30,65,496 (4 crore 30 lakh 65 thousand 4 hundred and 96). It has been another typical summer week for India as many parts of the country face heatwaves and storms at the same time. Most parts of north and central India started this week with above normal day temperatures when Daltonganj in Jharkhand recorded 45.2°C maximum temperature on 19 April which was the highest April temperature since 2010. The all-time record for April is 46.5°C on 18 April 2010. Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh recorded 45.2°C maximum temperature on 18 April, narrowly missing the April all-time record of 45.4°C set on 15 April 2019. Both the base weather observatories of the national capital, Safdarjung and Palam, reported the season's highest maximum temperature at 42.6°C on 19 April, leading to heatwave conditions in Delhi.
