Delhi riots: AAP govt gives approval to prosecute Umar Khalid under UAPA

New Delhi:  Police have received prosecution sanction from the Arvind Kejriwal government against Umar Khalid , a former JNU student leader, in connection with a case related to the February communal violence in northeast Delhi, officials said on Friday. "We have given prosecution sanction in all the Delhi riots related cases registered by the police. Now, it is up to the courts to see who are the accused," a senior Delhi government functionary said. The sanction has been received against Khalid in the Delhi riots conspiracy case, in which he was booked under the stringent anti-terror Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Haj Committee of India announces action plan for 2021 pilgrimage; application opens on 7 Nov

The Haj Committee of India on Thursday announced the Haj Action Plan 2021. The plan included several changes that were made keeping the COVID-19 pandemic situation in mind. According to a report in DNA , the Hajj pilgrims from India who will be allowed to travel to Saudi Arabia will be selected through a lottery in January and in July. As per the report, this time, people who are between the ages of 18-65 age group will be allowed to perform Haj this year. Those interested in travelling to Saudi Arabia for the holy pilgrimage, must fill the Haj application form that will be available from 7 November. The last date to submit the form in 10 December. The report adds that if the application forms submitted exceed the required quota, then a lottery will be held in January 2021 to determine the passengers who will be selected for the trip. BSEB Class 12 2021: Bihar board to conduct Intermediate exam from 2 to 13 Feb, introduces new marking pattern

BSEB Class 12 board exam 2021: Bihar BSEB Class 12 board examination 2021 will be conducted by Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) from 2 to 13 February. The board has introduced a few changes in the marking pattern of the Class 12 Bihar board examination 2021. According to reports , if a candidate fails in a compulsory subject in the board exam, his/her additional subject marks will be considered instead. This will enable students appearing for the board examination to obtain the aggregate pass marks. The BSEB Class 12 board exam 2021 will be held in two shifts. The first shift will be from 9.30 am to 12.45 pm, while the second shift will be from 1.45 pm to 5 pm. Students appearing for the board exam will also get a 15 minutes "cool off" time to read the question paper and should plan the answers accordingly. BS Yediyurappa says Karnataka govt will ban firecrackers during Diwali due to COVID-19

Bengaluru: Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday said the state government will be issuing an order banning the use of firecrackers during Diwali, due to prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation. "We have discussed it (cracker ban), we are taking a decision to ban the use of firecrackers during Deepavali.. the government will soon be issuing an order to this effect," Yediyurappa said. Speaking to reporters, he said firecrackers will be banned due to the pandemic and other related reasons this year. Several states including Rajasthan, Odisha , Delhi have already decided to ban firecrackers. Karnataka health minister K Sudhakar on Thursday said firecrackers can badly impact the health of those who have already been infected by coronavirus. The Osmania University in Hyderabad announced the TS LAWCET and TS PGLCET results 2020 today (Friday, 6 November). Students who have appeared for Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET) 2020 can check their score and qualifying status at lawcet.tsche.ac.in . According to a report by Times Now , the TS LAWCET and PGLCET result 2020 will be declared in form of a scorecard and will mention the candidate's name, roll number, marks obtained, rank in merit list along with other details. To qualify the exam, students from the general category will have to secure a minimum of 35 percent marks. There is no minimum cut-off for students belonging to SC/ ST category.
